Since last year, android users have been waiting to get the Android 12 update for the Samsung smartphone to enjoy all the latest and enhanced features it offers. Samsung makes new Android OS updates with its own One UI versions. Even though it took a few months to release the new update of the OS after the beta versions released by Google, Samsung released One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 a bit quicker.
With One UI 4 update, you can customise your Samsung mobile in more ways with new widgets, theme options and better communication options. In this article, I am going to list all top features of the One UI 4.0.

One UI 4 mainly focuses on customization of your devices by giving you more options to modify the look and theme of your device the way you want. The privacy and device care also got amazing updates, which we will discuss here.

Color Palette
The new AI based ‘Color palette’ learns different colour patterns from your wallpaper. The new colours will be chosen by UI elements in apps, menus, and buttons on your mobile. Therefore, you do not need to use external icons or change the colour of buttons and options. Just use a wallpaper that you like, and your Samsung will make everything else in a similar colour.
How to enable Color Palette Option in One UI 4.0
Go to Settings and tap on Wallpaper and Style.
Tap on Color Palette.
You can choose a specific color tone selected by AI based on the wallpaper of your phone.
You can also choose to apply changes on the icons.
Improved Privacy Protection in Samsung One UI 4.0
If you turn on the new Privacy Settings in your mobile, then you will be able to see all apps that are using the camera, location and microphone of your phone in real time. You don’t need to go to individual apps one by one to check if you have given them the permissions to use camera and mic or not.
It also stores a complete usage log for 24 hours, so you can check it within 24 hours anytime you want. Whenever an app will use a camera or mic, an indicator will notify you on your status bar. Therefore, if you found an unwanted app using them then you can remove its access instantly. You can find the Privacy options in Settings => Privacy.
Clipboard and Location
Whenever an app will try to use the content copied to your clipboard you will get an alert. If most of the time you copy sensitive information like your password or bank account information then you must turn on this option to prevent unauthorised access to your clipboard by unauthorised applications on your mobile.
With the new update, you can set an application option not to use your exact location. If you think an app does not need to know your exact location then you can set that app to know your general location only.
New Widgets in Samsung Android 12
The new redesigned widgets are much better now with the new rounded corners. In the widget list area you can find all the widgets of different apps and choose the one you are looking for. You will also find recommendations for the better widgets to use them.
New Keyboard Features for Android 12
Samsung keyboard has improved now with the new features giving you access to additional stickers, animations, GIFs and emojis. You can use emojis to create new custom emoji. Third-party plugins can be integrated to your keyboard now. It means you can download external emojis and GIFs and use them directly in your keyboard by a simple tap. You can also integrate Grammarly with your keyboard to check the spelling.
Lock Screen Widgets
Samsung has added some new and improved widgets to your lock screen in One UI 4.0. Media controller got a new option to change audio output from buds to your mobile speaker. You can also add Voice recorder option on your lock screen, so you could record anything instantly without unlocking your phone. You can also add Calendar widgets to your screen to check your upcoming events.
Device Care
If you think something is not working well for you or you found some problems in your mobile then you can use diagnostics tests from Device Care to see what is the issue with your mobile. In addition, if there were any security issues or battery problems then you will see an alert instantly on your main screen. Therefore, you can solve them straight away.

The camera app got major updates in One UI 4 version. The zoom option has changed from dots to real numbers to make it easier to navigate. In video mode, you can hold the shutter then swipe it towards the lock icon. It will lock the video recording process and you will not need to keep holding the shutter for recording the video. You can also switch between front and back cameras without stopping recording.

In One UI 4.0 when you turn on the dark mode then it automatically turns your screen icons dark. Giving you extra comfort browsing through the home screen.
